Coo-Var’s Suregrip Anti-Slip Floor Paint gets Selhurst Park Stadium Season Ready
Selhurst Park, home to premier leagues Crystal Palace made its most valuable signing of the year, ‘Coo-Var’. With a capacity of over 25,000 Crystal Palace required a floor paint with a first-class reputation in providing excellent durability, slip and wear resistance.
Selhurst Park Stadium originally opened on the 30th of August 1924 then with only the one main stand. Since then, a further four stands have been built, the most recent stand completed in 1994.
Over the past 28 years the stairs have had multiple floor coatings without much success, the stairs are a mixture of concrete and wood, with the main cause of the issue being high footfall, moisture, UV, and poor adhesion between the previous layers of paint.
Mark Costello from Crystal Palace FC went to Dulux Trade for advice on selecting a floor paint suitable for this type of use. Dulux Trade then teamed up with Coo-Var Paints to specify the Floor Paint most suited for this type of application.
The stairs were cleaned, any loose unstable material was taken back, and the remaining coatings of paint were abraded to provide a good "key" for the Suregrip to adhere to.
A total of 980L of Suregrip was used on the steps and nosing’s, to create the finished look.
Suregrip Anti-Slip Floor Paint provides, the best anti-slip protection, it has a high slip resistant score, for wet and dry conditions without compromising on aesthetics, giving you a practical, high quality decorative finish.
Mark Costello from Crystal Palace FC‘I am extremely happy with the outcome and support offered by Dulux Trade and Coo-Var’.
