Profloor Plus FAQ's

What is the difference between Profloor Plus and normal Profloor?

Profloor Plus is a resin-based, two-part epoxy that offers superior durability and enhanced chemical resistance, making it ideal for environments exposed to a high volume of chemicals. In contrast, the standard Profloor is a water-based, two-part epoxy that is slightly less durable and has lower chemical resistance, suitable for garages and warehouses where chemical exposure is minimal.

Can Profloor Plus be applied to any surface?

Profloor Plus can be applied to various surfaces, including concrete, wood, and metal. However, the surface must be properly prepared, clean, and free of contaminants like oil, grease, and dust for the best adhesion and finish.

Can I apply Profloor Plus over a previous floor paint?

We recommend applying this floor paint over previous two-pack epoxy floor paints only, applying over a single pack floor paint is not recommended.

Do I need a primer?

We recommend priming bare concrete with ProSeal High Performance Primer or Dampshield Primer on concrete surfaces of over 14% moisture readings.

For Metal use 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer

How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?

For concrete floors, shot blasting or acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

Moisture content of the surface should be checked to determine correct primer prior to painting.

For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.

For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and falking material.

How long does Profloor Plus take to dry?
Ovecoat time is 16 hours, you can walk over the surface after 24 but we recommend leaving the floor 5 - 7 days before heavy traffic.

How many coats of Profloor should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.

What maintenance is required for Profloor?
Regular sweeping and mopping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good. Avoid using high abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
