ProGrip FAQ's

Can ProGrip be applied to any surface?

ProGrip can be applied to various surfaces, including concrete, wood, and metal. However, the surface must be properly prepared, clean, and free of contaminants like oil, grease, and dust for the best adhesion and finish.

Can I apply ProGrip over a previous floor paint?

We recommend applying this floor paint over previous two-pack epxoy floor paints only, applying over a single pack floor paint is not recommended?

Do I need a primer?

We recommend priming bare concrete with ProSeal High Performance Primer

How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?

For concrete floors, shot blasting or acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

Moisture content of the surface should be less than 14% prior to painting.

For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.

For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and falking material.

How long does ProGrip take to dry?
Ovecoat time is 16 hours, you can walk over the surface after 24 but we recommend leaving the floor 5 - 7 days before heavy traffic.

What type of roller should I use to apply ProGrip?

We suggest using a short pile roller sleeve.

How many coats of ProGrip should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.

What maintenance is required for ProGrip?
Regular sweeping and mopping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
