Product Description
This coating glows in the dark for a limited time after exposure to light. Used to identify exits, doors, escape routes or steps when lights fail at night. Also suitable for theatrical effects. This product is especially useful in buildings with a large amount of people.

What is luminous paint?
Luminous paint contains phosphorescent pigments that absorb light and re-emit it over time, allowing the painted surface to glow in the dark after exposure to a light source.
How does luminous paint work?
Phosphorescent pigments in the paint absorb energy from light sources (like sunlight or artificial light) and slowly release this energy as visible light in the dark. This process is known as phosphorescence.
How long does the glow last?
The duration of the glow depends on the amount of light it has absorbed. Typically Coo-Var Luminous paint can glow for several hours, gradually dimming over time.

Luminous Base Coat is a white primer to enhance the effectiveness of luminous paint by reflecting more light into the phosphorescent pigments.
How long does luminous paint last before it needs reapplication?
The longevity of the glow effect can diminish over time with exposure to the elements however it can be protected with Luminous Clear Protective Coat for outdoors.
Is luminous paint safe to use?
Yes,Coo-Var Luminous is water based, Low VOC, are non-toxic and safe for use. However, it's important to check the product label for safety information and use proper ventilation and protective gear during application.
How can the glow be recharged?
Expose the painted surface to a light source, such as sunlight or artificial light for several hours.
Can luminous paint be removed?
Yes, it can be removed using standard paint removers, sanding, or other mechanical methods.
