Coo-Var Brick and Tile Paint is a gloss red general purpose, versatile alkyd based paint for application to brick, stone, tiles or cement. Ideal for use on porches, outbuildings, garden walls etc.

What are the advantages of using Brick and Tile paint?

How should I prepare brick and tile surfaces before painting with Brick and Tile Paint?

Clean the surfaces thoroughly to remove dirt, grease, and any loose material. Use a wire brush or power washer for bricks and a mild detergent for tiles. Ensure the surfaces are dry before painting. For tiles, lightly sand the surface to improve adhesion.

Do I need a primer before applying Brick and Tile Paint?

You do not need to use a primer you can apply direct to stable surfaces however correct surface preperation should be undertaken.

How should I apply Brick and Tile paint?

Use a brush, roller, or sprayer depending on the size and texture of the surface. Apply in thin and even coats.

How long does the paint take to dry?

Touch Dry 5 hours, Hard Dry 24 Hours and Full Hardness 5-7 Days.

Can Brick and Tile paint be used on high-traffic areas or surfaces exposed to moisture?

It is not reccomend for areas with high traffic however surfaces exposed to moisture, such as bathroom tiles or exterior bricks will be fine as long as the paint has been applied whilst the surfaces where dry.

How do I maintain surfaces painted with Brick and Tile paint?

Clean painted surfaces with mild detergent and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the finish. Regular cleaning can help maintain the appearance and longevity of the painted surface.

Can I paint over existing paint with this paint?

Yes, you can paint over existing paint as long as a bitumen product has not been previously used. Ensure the surface is clean and lightly sanded to promote adhesion of the new coat.

Is Brick and Tile paint environmentally friendly?

Brick and Tile paint is a Alkyd-based paint which contain solvents and can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during application and drying. Proper ventilation is essential during use. We do Water Based Brick and Tile paint which can be used if a low VOC is required.

How do I clean brushes and tools after using the paint?

Clean brushes and tools with Coo-Var Thinners 14. Follow safety guidelines for handling and disposing of solvents.

What are the common issues to watch out for when using Brick and Tile Paint ?

Common issues include poor adhesion due to inadequate surface preparation and prolonged drying times in high humidity so painting and preperation must be carried out accordinly.
