Coo-Var Danish Oil is an alternative treatment to Teak Oil to give a hard, durable and water reststant finish. Ideal for use on mahogany, teak and most other timber. Contains tung oil.

Unlike surface finishes like polyurethane, Danish oil penetrates the wood, enhancing its natural grain and providing a more natural look and feel. It combines the benefits of both oil (deep penetration and enhancement of wood grain) and varnish (surface protection).
How is Danish oil applied?
Danish oil is typically applied with a brush or cloth. The surface should be clean, dry, and sanded smooth before application. It is applied in thin coats, allowing each coat to penetrate for 12 hours and build it up.
How many coats of Danish oil are needed?
Typically, 2-3 coats are recommended for most projects. More coats can be applied for additional protection and sheen.
How long does Danish oil take to dry?
Danish oil generally takes about 8 hours to become hard-dry, but full curing can take up to 5 - 7 days. Drying times can vary depending on temperature and humidity.
