Coo‑Var Radiator Enamel is a specialist paint designed specifically for domestic hot‑water radiators. It’s a water‑based radiator enamel formulated to withstand the higher temperatures radiators reach without blistering, peeling, or discolouring like regular paint might

How does Radiator Enamel work?

Coo‑Var Radiator Enamel works by forming a durable, heat-resistant coating on metal radiators. It bonds strongly to clean, prepared surfaces, resists blistering or peeling from heat, and provides a protective, moisture-and-dirt-resistant mid-gloss finish. The enamel expands and contracts slightly with heat, ensuring long-lasting durability while keeping radiators looking smooth and polished

How many coats of Radiator Enamel do I need?

We would recommend applying two coats for the best results

Do I need to prime the surface before applying Radiator Enamel?

You do not need to prime the surface as this can be applied directly, however a suitable primer is optional; This would need to be one with efficient heat resistance (PLEASE NOTE: we would advise on a small test area first to check for compatibility with our Radiator Enamel)

Can I use Radiator Enamel on any surface?

Coo‑Var Radiator Enamel is specifically formulated for metal surfaces exposed to heat, such as radiators. It works best on steel, cast iron, or other metal radiator surfaces that are clean, degreased, and lightly sanded

No, this is only available in white

What maintenance is required?

Once fully cured, Coo‑Var Radiator Enamel requires minimal
maintenance. Simply clean the radiator gently with a soft cloth and mild cleaner, avoid abrasive tools or harsh chemicals, and touch up any chips or scratches as needed to keep the finish durable and looking good
