Suregrip can be applied to various surfaces, including concrete, wood, asphalt, tarmac and metal. However, the surface must be properly prepared, clean, and free of contaminants such as oil, grease, and dust to ensure the best adhesion and finish.
Can I apply Suregrip Aqua Anti-Slip Floor Paint over a previous floor paint?
If the previous floor paint is sound and well adhered to original substrate, yes, however we always recommend a test area first.
Do I need a primer?
We recommend priming the concrete by thinning down the first coat of Coo-Var Acrylic Floor Paint, thinned 5% with clean water
How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?
For concrete floors acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.
Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.
Moisture content of the surface should be less than 14% prior to painting.
For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.
For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and flaking material.
What type of roller should I use to apply Suregrip Aqua Anti-Slip Floor Paint?
We suggest using a short pile roller sleeve.
How long does Suregrip Aqua Anti-Slip Floor Paint take to dry?
Overcoat time is 6 hours, you can walk over the surface after 6 hours. Full Hardness takes between 3 to 5 days dependent on temperature.
How many coats of Suregrip Aqua Floor Paint should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.
What maintenance is required for Suregrip Aqua Anti-Slip Floor Paint?
Regular sweeping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
