How to Apply Anti-Slip Floor Paint
Preparation: Correct surface preparation is essential for achieving a durable, long-lasting anti-slip finish. Before applying any coating, the floor should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and other contaminants. Heavily contaminated surfaces should be cleaned using our Floor Paint Degreaser, while bare concrete floors may require treatment with our Acid Etch Solution to remove laitance and provide a suitable surface for coating adhesion.
Application: Once the surface has been properly prepared, apply the anti-slip floor paint in accordance with the product instructions. Depending on the system selected, slip resistance may be achieved through built-in aggregates or by broadcasting anti-slip aggregate into the wet coating before applying a second coat. Most anti-slip floor paints can be applied by brush or roller, making them suitable for both professional contractors and DIY users.
Dying and curing: After application, allow sufficient drying and curing time before exposing the floor to foot traffic, vehicles or heavy equipment. Proper preparation and application will maximise coating performance and help provide a safer, more slip-resistant surface for garages, workshops, warehouses, factories, ramps and loading bays.
