FAQs

Can Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint be applied to any surface?

Acrylic Floor Paint can be applied to various surfaces, including concrete, wood, tarmac, asphalt, and metal. However, the surface must be properly prepared, clean, and free of contaminants such as oil, grease, and dust to ensure the best adhesion and finish.

Can I apply Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint over a previous floor paint?

If the previous floor paint is sound and well adhered to original substrate, yes, however we always recommend a test area first.

Do I need a primer?

We recommend priming the surface by thinning down the first coat 5% with water.

For wooden floors seal any knots prior to thinning down the first coat.

How should I prepare the surface before applying the paint?

For concrete floors, shot blasting or acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

Moisture content of the surface should be less than 14% prior to painting.

For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.

For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and flaking material.

How long does Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint take to dry?
Overcoat time is 6 hours, you can walk over the surface after 12 hours.

How many coats of Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.

What maintenance is required for Anti-Slip Acrylic Floor Paint?
Regular sweeping and mopping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
