FAQs

What is Coo-Var Glass Shading?

This is a special coating made for glass that has a tint, which varies in color or reflectivity, depending on light conditions as well as viewing angles or heat.

It’s a type of glass treatment designed to control sunlight, heat and glare while changing how the glass looks.

How does Coo-Var Glass Shading work?

This works by adding a very thin special layer directly to the interior of a glass surface that controls sunlight.

That layer lets useful light in while blocking unwanted heat and glare

How many coats of Coo-Var Glass Shading do I need?

As this is different to traditional paints, it is subjective: One coat will provide a blocking functionality, however for preference we would advise on applying each coat and checking if it is thick
enough to block out the amount of heat and glaze required.

Do I need to prime the surface before applying Coo-Var Glass Shading?

No, a primer is not needed or advised

Can I use Coo-Var Glass Shading on any surface?

No. This is specifically designed for glass surfaces

Is Coo-Var Glass Shading safe to use?

Yes, this is safe to use

Can Coo-Var Glass Shading go over previously painted surfaces?

No, this must go directly onto clean, bare glass

Can I repaint over Coo-Var Glass Shading?

We would not recommend this

Does Coo-Var Glass Shading come in different colours?

No, this is only available in white

What maintenance is required?

Clean like normal glass, and when you want the existing coating removed simply go over the surface with warm water and mild soap
