Coo-Var Guard-Coat is a two pack water-based paint for floors and walls, containing antibacterial properties through Silver ion technology to protect against MRSA and E.Coli.

Ideal for use in hospitals, clinics, schools & commercial kitchens it also reduces scuffs on walls from chairs and beds.

RAL, BS4800, BS381C & NCS Colours to Order (Minimum of 5L Required).

Can Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint be applied to any surface?

Guard Coat can be applied to walls, ceilings and floors, concert, plaster, and over previous emulsion paints.

Can I apply Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint over a previous floor paint?

On walls this product can be applied over a previous paint coating however on floors we only recommend applying Guard Coat over a previous two-pack epoxy floor paint or primer.

Do I need a primer when using Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint?

We recommend priming bare concrete with ProSeal High Performance Primer

How should I prepare the surface before applying Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint?

For concrete floors acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

Moisture content of the surface should be less than 14% prior to painting.

For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.

For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and flaking material.

How long does Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint take to dry?
Over coat time is 16 hours, you can walk over the surface after 24 but we recommend leaving the floor 5 - 7 days before exposing it to heavy traffic.

How many coats of Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.

What maintenance is required for Guard Coat two-pack epoxy floor and wall paint?
Regular sweeping and mopping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good and anti-bacterial technology in effect. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
