FAQs

Do I need a primer for line marking paint? You don't need a primer for line marking paint, just make sure the surface is clean and any previous paint is abraded.

How long does line marking paint last?
The durability of the paint depends on the surface, and traffic levels. We expect our line marking paint to last up to 4 years (traffic dependant).

How long does the paint take to dry before traffic / pedestrian access? Coo-Var Line Marking Paint is touch dry in just 30 minutes and hard dry in 4 hours.

How do I calculate how much line marking paint I need?
Line marking paint covers 10 sqm per L.

  1. Measure the total length of the lines you want to mark (in metres).
  2. Decide on the line width (e.g. 50mm / 0.05m is common for car parks).
  3. Multiply length × width to get the total square metres of coverage.
  4. Divide that figure by 10 sqm per litre to see how many litres of paint you need.

Example: For 100 metres of 50mm wide lines:

100m × 0.05m = 5 sqm.

5 sqm ÷ 10 sqm/L = 0.5 litres of paint.

What is the best weather for applying line marking paint? The best weather is a warm cloudy day, with low humidity.

Can line marking paint be applied to any surface? You can apply line marking paint to concrete, metal, grp, tarmac and asphalt
