FAQs

What is the difference between Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint and normal Profloor two-pack epoxy floor paint?

Profloor Plus is a resin-based, two-part epoxy that offers superior durability and enhanced chemical resistance, making it ideal for environments exposed to a high volume of chemicals. In contrast, the standard Profloor which is a water-based, two-part epoxy that is slightly less durable and has lower chemical resistance, suitable for garages and warehouses where chemical exposure is minimal.

Can Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint be applied to any surface?

Profloor Plus can be applied to various surfaces, including concrete, wood, tiles and metal.

Can I apply Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint over a previous floor paint?

We recommend applying this floor paint over previous two-pack epoxy floor paints only, applying over a single pack floor paint is not recommended.

Do I need a primer when applying a two-pack epoxy floor paint?

We recommend priming bare concrete with ProSeal High Performance Primer or Dampshield Primer on concrete surfaces of over 14% moisture readings.

For Metal use 2 Pack Zinc Phosphate Primer

How should I prepare the surface before applying a two-pack epoxy floor paint?

For concrete floors, mechanical grinding or acid etching may be necessary to remove dust and laitance.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before application, coo-var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

Moisture content of the surface should be checked to determine correct primer prior to painting.

For other surfaces, appropriate cleaning and sanding may be required to create a suitable profile for the paint to adhere to.

For previously painted surfaces, make sure to clean, abrade and remove all loose and flaking material.

How long does Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint take to dry?
Overcoat time is 16 hours, you can walk over the surface after 24 but we recommend leaving the floor 5 - 7 days before heavy traffic.

How many coats of Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint should I apply?
For the best durability and finish, it’s recommended to apply two coats.

What maintenance is required for Profloor Plus two-pack epoxy floor paint?
Regular sweeping and mopping with a non-abrasive cleaner will keep the floor looking good. Avoid using high abrasive cleaning tools, as these can damage the epoxy coating. Additionally, promptly clean up any spills to prevent staining.
