Product Description

Coo-Var Dampshield creates a damp-proof membrane and can be used on new concrete before it has fully cured. It adheres to damp and/or floors with residual oil contamination. Ideal for cellars, basements, garages, factories and warehouses.

Works particularly well as a system underneath Coo-Var Profloor Plus or Coo-Var Polyguard.

What is Dampshield two-pack epoxy primer used for?

This two-pack epoxy primer forms a damp-proof membrane (DPM) on floors that lack one. Additionally, it can be applied to new concrete screeds without needing to wait for them to dry before painting.

This product is designed to be applies to a bare substate that still contains a lot of moisture.

How should I prepare the surface before applying Dampshield two-pack epoxy primer?

We recommend acid etching any bare concrete to remove dust and laitance.

Coo-Var degreaser or oil remover can be used to clean the floor.

How long does Dampshield two-pack epoxy prime rtake to dry?
Minimum overcoat time is 12 hours and maximum overcoat time is 48 hours. This must be over coated with Profloor Plus

How many coats of Dampshield two-pack epoxy primer should I apply?
See technical data sheet for product to asses how many coats are required for your application, this is normally one coat.

Brick Preparation: Repair any cracks/damage, Oil Remover / Degreaser & a clean and dry surface

Tiles Preparation: Light abrasion and a clean dry surface

Tarmac Preparation: Oil Remover, clean, pressure wash, remove all loose debris, oil and other contaminants (New Tarmac needs to be weathered for 14 days prior to painting)

Asphalt Preparation: Oil Remover, clean, pressure wash, remove all loose debris, oil and other contaminants(New asphalt needs to be at least 3 months old prior to painting)
