Product Description

Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint is a bituminous based aluminium paint that gives a highly reflective metallic finish.

Designed to reflect and dissipate heat and sunlight on roofs resulting in a reduction of heat build-up.

  • Special Notes: Apply direct onto wood and concrete. On metal use Coo-Var Zinc Phosphate Primer

Do I need to prime the surface before applying Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint?

No. This can be applied directly to its prepared roof surface

Can I use Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint on any surface?

We recommend it be applied onto flat or sloping roofs made of the following substrates:

- Felt

- Asphalt

- Wood

- Brick

- Concrete

- Tiles and Cladding

- GRP

Is Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint ​safe to use?

Although it is a solvent-based paint, as it is a single-pack paint it is safe to use without any professional application

Can Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint go over previously painted surfaces?

If the roof surface is previously painted with our Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint or a bitumen-based paint, they can be overcoated. The previous paint or bitumen will need to be clean and free from dirt/debris beforehand

Can I repaint over Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint?

Yes, but only with the same paint product or a bitumen-based roof coating. The original coating will need to be clean and free from dirt/debris before overcoating.

Does Coo-Var Solar Reflecting Aluminium Paint come in different colours?

This is only available in an aluminium, gloss finish

Concrete Preparation: Oil Remover / Degreaser, Acid Etch

Brick Preparation: Repair any cracks/damage, Oil Remover / Degreaser & a clean and dry surface

Asphalt Preparation: Oil Remover, clean, pressure wash, remove all loose debris, oil and other contaminants (New asphalt needs to be at least 3 months old prior to painting)

Felt Preparation: A clean dry surface
